Oh, the memories I have of enjoying hard candy root beer barrels from my youth. My grandmother always had candy bowls out for us when we came to visit, and I remember root beer barrels being one of my favorite. These Donty-Tonty old fashioned candies have a pretty recognizable and familiar flavor. Nearly everything about them is wonderfully reminiscent of how much I enjoyed them as a child. The actual root beer flavor is kind of subdued and could definitely be stronger, in my opinion. However, they still taste pretty good.
This one pound bag has approximately 66 pieces in it, so there are plenty to display in a nice candy bowl, while also keeping some in reserve for later use. Each candy is individually wrapped in easy to open plastic wrappers. We have family visiting for the holiday week, and these are going to be perfect to share with the little ones as special treats in the afternoons. I think the flavor, texture, and overall quality are relatively good, and I really appreciate that these come in a nice resealable bag. Everyone in our family is really enjoying these sweet little candies!

I have never heard of Donty Tonty candy brand that is written on the bag. But the candy seems fine.

These Colombina Root Beer Barrels are hard and sweet with a mild root beer taste. The candies are quite small, though flavorful, and there’s a lot in the bag. The barrel design is a fun addition.
The candies are repackaged in a brightly colored, resealable bag. The expiration date and the nutrition label are clearly presented on the back. I was quite impressed with the quality and felt confident the candies were fresh.
